The Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain Range is a true adventure route, through a very well preserved virgin nature, where you will have a magical and spiritual encounter with the sacred mountains or tutelary apus. This excursion is the best alternative, it is less visited and less demanding than the colorful mountain of Vinicunca, it will really fill the most unforgettable memories, with its sumptuous landscapes of high and colorful mountains that surround the famous Ausangate mountain ranges; peaceful pastoral settings of herds of alpacas, kept by Andeans in multicolored clothing.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PALCCOYO TOUR - 01 DAY:
This tour offers a wonderful visit to the "Montaña de Colores (rainbow)” in Cusco through the so-called "Cordillera Arco Iris del Palccoyo". This place has gained fame due to the different coloration of the mountains due to sediments and minerals. from this part of the Andes.
Pick up from your hotel around 07.00 am. We leave Cusco in our private transport and head south of the city, passing through valleys, rivers, mountains and some communities; We will arrive at the starting point of our walk that is 4,900 meters above sea level.
We walk uphill for approximately 45 minutes to the highest point of our excursion which is at 5,000 meters, passing through unique formations of the rainbow mountain range.
Once at the top of our route, we will have the Cordillera de Vilcanota in front of us. We will have all the time to rest and take photos. Afterwards, we descend for approximately 30 minutes to the starting point. We will take the bus to the lunch place and return to the city of Cusco where we will arrive around 5:30 p.m.
The impressive view of the snow-covered Ausangate mountain will accompany us throughout the journey.
