  1. HUMANTAY LAKE - 1 DAY TOUR

The Humantay lake or lagoon located on the slopes of the snowy Humantay, community of Soraypampa, district of Mollepata, province of Anta and department of Cusco in Peru, is a tourist attraction that is visited daily by hundreds of national and international tourists. The turquoise color of its waters makes it unique in the region; and this is how the millenary region of Cusco surprises us again by presenting a new alternative for travelers who wish to enjoy nature and the natural landscape at the foot of a snowy area surrounded by imposing glaciers; But, this magical and wonderful natural landscape is not only the place where the color and magic of nature merge. But, also, it is a sacred and mystical place where you can reflect on the fragility of the terrestrial ecosystem and the effects of climate change.

The Humantay lagoon (Head of the Gods), is a turquoise water mirror that lies at the foot of the imposing snowy Apu Humantay (sacred mountain). Its turquoise waters, come from the thaw of the Humantay snowy mountain, and owe its turquoise color due to the presence of micro algae (Microcystis aeruginosa and Oscillatoria), presence of minerals and the refraction of light. However, this impressive coloration is very vulnerable to the action of man; as the unauthorized entry of some travelers into the lagoon has caused the turquoise color to change to a gray hue on its banks. For this reason, it is prohibited to enter the lagoon.

1 day of hiking, for nature lovers, where they will find a combination of exotic landscapes, next to an exuberant flora and fauna; where the thaw of the snowy mountain of Humantay creates a beautiful and natural landscape, which can be accessed on foot, and thus enjoy the whole environment of this magical and mysterious place.
